Having spent the last four years in administrative capacities within South Kingstown, Jon’s journey began as an Assistant Principal at South Kingstown High School for three fruitful years. He then assumed the role of Principal at Curtis Corner Middle School, where he spent the majority of the 22/23 school year. Prior to joining the South Kingstown community, Mr. Rapport served as an Assistant Principal, sharing his expertise between BF Norton and Community Elementary Schools in Cumberland. Before transitioning to administration, he diligently worked as a math teacher in North Branford, Connecticut, making a positive impact on his students’ academic journeys.
Returning to the elementary level fills Jon with excitement, as he believes in the profound impact that can be made during these formative years. His core principles revolve around shaping a child’s educational future and building a solid foundation for academic success in the years to come. Mr. Rapport’s passion lies in setting high academic expectations for students and providing them with the necessary tools to exceed those expectations. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Rapport takes great pride in being a devoted husband and a loving father to a daughter and son. He, along with their family dog, are residents of South Kingstown, and he eagerly looks forward to being a parent of students in the district in the coming years. Mr. Rapport’s academic journey has been marked with distinction, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Arts in Mathematics and Education, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and a certificate in Educational Leadership from Quinnipiac University. As testament to his achievements, he graduated first in his class, earning a place on the Quinnipiac University Alumni Council for Educational Leadership, and even being featured in their alumni newsletter for his commendable accomplishments as a school administrator.
