Student and staff safety are of the highest importance to ensure an environment that cultivates learning and growth. In a joint effort between the Town of South Kingstown and the South Kingstown School Department, the schools have been the focus of a Safe, Secure and Healthy Schools Project. This Project is managed by the South Kingstown School Department and advised by the South Kingstown School Building Committee. SAFE, SECURE & HEALTHY SCHOOLS: Vestibule Projects
FALL 2019
IMPORTANT UPDATE (as of December 31, 2019): All vestibules are now deemed substantially complete per RI Department of Education. We are excited to announce that this project was a success.
Presentation of the COMPLETED Vestibule Project
In order to provide safety precautions for our schools, we have determined that security upgrades were needed at a number of our schools. The project includes front door vestibule hardening and upgraded security systems at South Kingstown High School, Broad Rock Middle School, Peace Dale Elementary School, Wakefield Elementary School, West Kingston Elementary School, and Matunuck Elementary School. The project also includes the parking lots improvements at Peace Dale Elementary School.
